"Wasp" is the nickname given to an early racing car manufactured by the Marmon Motor Car Company in 1911. Designed by Ray Harroun, the Wasp was nicknamed as such for its color and appearance; it was also the first race car to use a single-seat construction now commonly used. The model was based on the Model 32 produced by Marmon around that time and was powered by a 9.8L inline-6 engine.
