The GMC Typhoon is a high-performance SUV manufactured by GMC from 1992 to 1993. Designed by Kim Nielsen and Bill Davis, the Typhoon is in effect a SUV version of the Syclone introduced the previous year. As with the Syclone, the Typhoon is powered by a 4.3L Vortec LB4 turbocharged V6 mated to a 4-speed 4L60 automatic; unlike the Syclone, the Typhoon featured self-leveling rear suspension.
