The BMW M3 Lightweight (alternatively LTW) is a homologation special version of the E36-generation BMW M3. Designed by Claus Luthe, the M3 Lightweight was created to homologate the M3 for use in the IMSA Showroom Stock Series; it was in effect an Americanized version of the M3 GT sold in Europe.
