The Toyota Celica GT-Four was a high-performance model of the Toyota Celica as a homologation special; the cars themselves were built to compete in the World Rally Championship, so a number of road-going cars had to be built to conform to regulations. The GT-Four rally cars featured a number of pioneering breakthroughs, such as being the first to introduce an anti-lag system and being the first Japanese all-wheel drive car to compete (and win) in the WRC.
