The Chevrolet Astro II was a one-off prototype developed by Chevrolet in 1968. Designed by Larry Shinoda, the Astro II featured a "spaceship-like" design and was used to study the feasibility of a mid-engined Corvette for production; while similar studies would be performed in the years that followed, a mid-engined Corvette would only begin serial production in 2020.
