The Mercedes-Benz C 111 was a series of experimental concept cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from the 1960s to 1970s. Designed by Bruno Sacco, the C 111s utilized many experimental technologies, such as Wankel rotary engines, gullwing doors, multi-link suspension and luxurious interiors. Use of the Wankel engine was later scrapped, with later cars using experimental diesel engines for speed record tests. 16 cars were produced.
